I'm Blushing

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Joel_Smith]Joel Smith

If you want to achieve a rosy, healthy glow choose a blush that is creamy in texture or a categorized as a cheek stain. Stains and cream blushes create the most natural, moisturized glow but rub off easily. To ensure that it stays put I suggest putting a dab of foundation or a cream beneath a stain to create a more dimensional look. Another tip is to use a bronzed color with a rosy color to create a sun-kissed look. All you do is dab a creamy bronzer (like Maybellines cream bronzers) and then apply a berry colored stain on the apples of the cheeks and youre done! A very easy to and use option is Tartes Cheekstain which are extremely gorgeous and come in a variety of shades.

If you are more comfortable with a powder, there are many simple ways to perfect this look as well. I suggest grabbing a lighter and a deeper hue from a similar color family as well as a highlighter. Make a fishy face and sweep the deeper shade into the contour of your cheek bone. This essential makes your face look slimmer so dont be surprised when a girl friend asks if you lost a pound or two! Next, smile big and brush the lighter shade onto the apple of the cheeks and the highlighter onto the upper jaw bone up nearly up to the temple. Blend, blend, blend these colors until they look natural and your new look is complete. If you liked the previous thought of a sun-kissed glow, take a bronzer and apply into the hollow while you apply a bright rosy or coral color to the cheek bones. Be sure to sweep a mixture of your forehead, bridge of the nose and chin to make your look even.

Using one single color may sound a lot easier but trust us, it often times makes a face look more flat and washed out than vivacious and full of life. Trust us, once youve mastered these tricks of two to three blush colors swirled into one, it will only take a minute more and youll love the flush of your cheeks and the appeal it presents to others.

The Number 1 Thing a Mother Must Do!

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Liane_Fitzpatrick]Liane Fitzpatrick

Attention all mothers! Martyrdom is dead. Take it from a reformed people pleasing veteran, if you want to live a happy, fulfilled life you need some help to get rid of the desire to please others before yourself. Basically the more help you get the quicker you reform. Hire a coach, a counsellor or seek out a group tailor made for people pleasers.

Truly the biggest hurdle for those with the disease-to-please is convincing themselves that they are worth the time, money and effort of getting some skilled help.

So I imagine you might have some difficulty in that area so let me tell you something that might motivate you. This applies to all parents, whether they work in the home or out of the home. Go look at your daughter and think about all of the times you have put others before yourself. ThinK of all the times you felt guilty for taking care of your own needs. Remember, you are teaching her about how to be a woman. Your daughter is learning from you on how to make herself important in the world.

If you are not even on the list of importance then neither will she be, do you think that your daughter is worth the time, effort and money for you to seek assistance in this area? Every time you put someone before yourself, imagine it is really your daughter who is going to be last? Would you still act the same way? The only way to teach our children self respect and self love is to respect and love ourselves.

Another outdated thought is that children learn from what we say not what we do, WRONG! They are super sensitive sponges that gain their knowledge about the world from all of the actions of those around them. You are also teaching you son about women. If you cannot consider yourself, consider this...he will view the importance and relevance of women through your eyes. He will treat women exactly how you treat yourself.

"What we don't fix in ourselves we pass onto our children."

Now, that's a gift that keeps on giving. True to a pleaser's form, I imagine right now you are riddled with guilt as you read my words. Please don't dump on yourself...we are all a work in progress and ...when we know better we do better.

Mothers, you need to get on the list. The list of things that you consider important. Now the moment you start to make a shift and begin to transform your self importance your sponges (your children) will begin to learn too. It is never too late, we are always teaching our children regardless of how old they are. Imagine the wonderful gift you will give your children when you seek skilled, professional support in this area, you will teach your son and daughter how to reach out for help when they needs it.

Mothers, if you want to give your children a lifelong gift that will carry them through thick and thin, then teach yourself to know without a doubt, without a hesitation, without a guilt trip....that you are important.

Shadow Me Beautiful

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Joel_Smith]Joel Smith

The first trick is to pick two to four shades that suit your tone warm, cool or neutral. Warmer colors have red tints while cooler have blue or purple bases. Lucky neutral ladies can wear anything their little hearts desire without the risk of looking off.

Once, youve chosen your warm, cool or neutral palette you then must conquer the application part. First apply the lightest shadow (preferably a dab of white or a similar hue) to the corner of the eye. This instantly brightens and widens them. Next apply the second lightest to the entirety of the lid. If it is really soft color you can even apply it up to the brow bone but we suggest just outside the crease and then a bit under the brow arch to further amplify those peepers. Next, work the deepest color into the crease. These makes eyes look deep-set and more intense. Finally, if you have chosen a four color palette, take the darkest shade and work it into the outer corner of the eye, sort of in the shape of a triangle. If you have only chosen two colors do the lightest in the all over sweep and the darker of the duo into the crease for simple, subtle approach.

Setting it with a powder (a mineral powder is best and lets skin breathe in summer months) well ensure that your powder wont crease or fade as fast. After you have done this step, apply a liner if you would like and wing it out for a mod, wide eyed, Twiggy look. Mastering liquid liner that stays put is best for this approach.

If you want to smolder take the deepest or second deepest shade and smudge into the bottom lash line. You can rim the entirety of the eye for a very sexy look. A trick of the trade when rimming with liner is to lift up the top lid and apply underneath the upper lash line which makes the top lashes appear very thick and full. It is easy to poke the eye so use caution when doing this. And always keep in mind that practice makes perfect so practice before that big night out to achieve the look youd like.

Cover Girl makes it easy and has warm, cool and neutral tones spelled out on their packaging. They also product two to four colored palettes with the same generalized instructions given here. Now go at it and smolder away!

Are Celebrities Driving The Trend In Designer Perfumes?

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Lisa_Horntip]Lisa Horntip

Going back a few years there were but a few designer perfumes on sale at your posh department store. The big names were Estee Lauder, Chanel and Guerlain. Whilst these names are still around and still make some wonderful perfumes it seems that celebrities are now the driving force behind the perfume sales. It seems that every Hollywood starlet must have her own perfume and range of cosmetics.

Do Celebrities Get A Hand In Designing Their Perfume?

I guess this depends on the celebrity and how much they interested. Those that have a long term vision of their career I guess may take an active role in the design and development because they want a fragrance that reflects their image long term. Image is everything in Hollywood. Its what drives sales and keeps you in the headlines. Those perhaps that are short-sighted may be inclined to slap their name to any product, take the cash and run.

Apparently, Celine Dion took a very active role in the development of her designer perfume. Thats not to say she personally picked the ingredients from the fields but rather she was involved in the development process that decided what kind of fragrance she wanted along with the packaging and marketing of the product.

Another celebrity that was heavily involved in the production of her perfume was Jennifer Lopez. She once worked on a cosmetics counter so probably knows a little more about what she wanted than some others. She worked with a cosmetics company that worked out the primary scent and then she added a hint of sake that tops off the fragrance just nicely. When designing the perfume bottle she took it upon herself to add some finishing touches by adding a fake diamond ring on the neck of the bottle. This is to reflect her love of wearing jewellery. This was Jennifers way of branding her own personality onto her perfume.

Paris Hilton, on the other hand, had very little to do with her perfume design. Apart from taking part in the marketing campaign she had very little input and left everything to someone else to sort. Perhaps this was a true reflection of her personality. Someone who has had to do very little for herself because there was always someone else there to do it for her.

Celebrity Designer Perfumes Grow In Popularity

One of the first celebrities to introduce her own perfume was Elizabeth Taylor. The launch was met with a mixed reaction. Many critics felt that celebrity perfumes were just the latest craze and would soon fade away. But today the growth looks strong. As new celebrities emerge from the limelight so it seems does a new designer perfume. It must be working though. Perfume sales are at an all time high but I suspect unlike the original designer labels that have stood the test of time as celebrities fade away so will the sales of their perfumes.

Lip Trends

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Joel_Smith]Joel Smith

But this season powerful plumpers are still around but have taken a back seat to a more subtle lip is in this summer season than weve seen in a long time. Appealing and easy looks inspired by au naturale 70s beach babes like Lauren Hutton were seen all over summer runways.

The colors are very simple and natural with a little flush of red or pink. These looks can easily be recreated simply by using Chapstick. Yes, Chapstick was used by makeup artists like Pat McGrath at several of the spring/summer shows. It does not get much trouble-free than that. If you are looking for more of a pop but want to stick with this uncomplicated trend try a gloss or balm that boasts and hint of subtle color. Keep in mind the trend leans towards a very rosy, healthy look so do not choose anything that has sparkles or glitter or that will attract attention directly at your mouth.

Choose a color that suits your skin tone. A classic pink or red in a rosy or berry color works great for fair and medium skin tones. If youd like to take a nod at the eighties colors that flourished for spring, choose an understated coral which is also a great color that only really works in summer and is gorgeous on deep skin tones.

Some great products to look at are LipSheers and Tinted Balm products by Neutrogena which come in a variety of shades and also included SPF20. Neutrogena products are easy on the wallet so you can test different colors without breaking the bank. If you are willing to spend the extra dollar, Stila Clear Color also come in a large range of beautiful rosy, nude and coral hues that give lips just the right amount of color to stay on trend.

Before you pucker up and apply, be sure to exfoliate vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds with a toothbrush. This ensures plumper lips and a smooth application. So buy that Chapstick or tinted balm and your lips will be ready for some summer lovin.

Finding the Perfect Bra

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Maryann_Hildebrant]Maryann Hildebrant

Do you often wonder what makes some womens breasts stand high and proud while others are down and out? Well, most of the time it isnt genetic, it is caused by wearing the wrong bra. Not only the wrong size but also the wrong type. You have to find a bra that is designed for your size and shape.

If you are large breasted (size D or above) you shouldnt buy a padded bra and one of those so called wonder bras. You need to choose one that has an under wire. I know some of you hear the word under wire and say, ugh. But truly your breasts wont look as good unless you have one. If you choose the right under wire bra there is no reason that it should hurt or be uncomfortable. Most of the time the problem with wires poking out arises from buying poor quality bras or simply because of laundering them improperly.

If your breasts are a size C or below you dont necessarily have to go with an under wire bra. Most of the time the bras without will work just fine. While a lot of smaller breasted women prefer to wear padded bras to help accentuate their curves they must also make sure not to purchase a bra that squeezes there breasts too tightly. Some cleavage is great but too much cleavage and you could be doing damage to your breasts by continually putting pressure on them.

Your bras will last much long if they are laundered properly. You should always wash your bra in the gentle cycle or hand wash and hang to dry. Never put your bra in the dryer as that can ruin the way it fits and cause unnecessary wear and tear. That is why the wires can poke out after just a couple of washings or the padding starts to wear. Also, remember to check yourself every few months to make sure your bra is fitting properly. A proper fitting bra increases the life of the bra as well as keeping our breasts healthy.

Maryann is a woman who wore an ill fitting bra for years. Once she realized that her bras didn't have to hurt to be supportive she felt compelled to share this with others by designing the website http://www.brasforyou.com which specializes in bra information as well as selling great looking, great fitting, and great priced bras and panties.

Breast Enlargement - Change Yourself Completely

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Joey_River]Joey River

It is very important for a woman to look attractive, this way she feels loved, secure and noticed. To be attractive it is necessary to have good figure, and the definition of good figure also includes good breasts. People who are not as well endowed or do not have shapely breasts often face the frustration of trying to look great.

Help is at hand, there are not several products in the market that will sort out the problem for looking great. All those who want to have great breasts can choose several options from breast enhancement creams to push up bras and for those women who are really serious about breast enlargement they can go in for breast enlargement surgery.

Push up bras offer a short-term respite from the problem, once change is anticipated, these can be remove and the problem goes to square one again. Therefore, for women wanting a permanent solution should choose one from those available.

There are breast enhancement creams available in market; you need applying or massaging this cream as per instructions on your breasts. These creams are herbal products, which will do your skin no harm, at the same time; these are made from herbs, which are known to increase the size of breasts within a span of two weeks to a month.

Another breast enhancement product for permanent effects are the breast enhancement pills. There are several manufacturers of breast enhancement pills, you will require consulting someone who has used these pills and have benefited from these. You can also ask your doctor for suggestions if you are in doubt. Since these pills are to be internally taken you should make it a point to see whether the pills have been certified safe by the FDA so that you are at ease about the quality and effectiveness of these pills. You will find pills make from allopathic chemical compounds and herbal compounds, both these are effective. Herbal breast enhancement pills manufacturers claim that herbal pills are without any side effects.

Most guaranteed form of permanent breast enhancement is the breast enlargement surgery. This surgery involves making a cut at the bottom of the breasts and inserting implants into these. These implants can be saline implants or the silicone implants. These implants need to be changed after every some years. Saline implants are known to break. Surgery is not a cheap option; it also requires women to undergo a surgery and a week of rest till the stitches dry. Therefore this is time consuming. Surgery will definitely leave scars on your body forever, when the time for change comes, the surgery will be done using the same place. Surgery poses a problem at the time of mammography or scans, since these often do not show correct results.

You can choose the method you want to try for breast enhancement so that you can achieve good figure and be talk of the town. You can make friends and also look up towards recognition faster when you are looking good.

Women's Self Defense-Sexual Assault Prevention Tips

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jack_Krohn]Jack Krohn

Believe it or not there are several things that women can do to be pro active in preventing sexual assaults and possibly rapes. Knowing how an attacker thinks can work to your advantage. Potential victims can learn from these facts and put a plan in place to be better prepared to fend off an assault.

THE LOCATION. The most common place for an assault is a grocery store parking lot. Attackers figure that a victim' hands and minds are distracted and are easy prey. Knowing this can make you better prepared and more on guard to fend off an attacker.

THE TIME. The most common time for an attack is early morning. Think about it-there are less people around and thus less witnesses. Knowing this can put you on guard if you must be out and about in the early am.

THE LOOK. It is a fact that women with long hair specifically ponytails or braids that can easily be grabbed are more likely targets than women with short hair. It is just a fact! Attackers also look for women wearing loose fitting clothing.

THE FIGHT. It is also a fact that if ANY resistance is in the offing, most attackers move on quickly. They are expecting little or no resistance. When they encounter resistance it takes more time which increase the chances of discovery. So FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT.

THE CARRY. How you carry yourself makes an impression. If your head is up and you walk confidently and quickly you are less likely a target than someone with their head down and walking slowly-just a fact.

WHAT YOU CARRY. If you carry a pepper spray, taser, or stun gun and know how to use it not only will it give you a better sense of confidence but will also give you time to escape if you need to use it.

Learn from these facts about assaults and develop a plan to protect yourself.

Please Note that even though pepper spray is legal in all 50 states, some states and cities have restrictions. Some states and cities have restrictions on stun guns. Check with your local police department. Literally thousands of police departments carry and use pepper spray and stun guns. Why wouldnt you?

The State of Mothethood in America

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Cheryl_Donovan]Cheryl Donovan

A writer once wrote, "No nation is greater than its mothers, for they are the makers of men" But, when I turn on my television and see the numbers of mothers who are killing their children I must ask myself, "What drives a mother to point of killing her own child?" "What is it in our society that makes a mother feel so desperate, so alone, that she believes her only recourse is the death of herself and her children?" Andrea Yates, who killed her five children; Dee Etta Perez, who shot her three children; Deanna Lany, who beat her two sons; Lisa Ann Diaz who drowned her daughters; Dena Schlosser, who fatally severed her daughters arms; and now Gilberta Estrada, who hung herself and her children. Not to mention the countless number of babies that are born and left in dumpsters even with the passing of a new law that says they can leave them in safe places and receive no repercussions.

Loneliness, poverty, depression; what demons lurk behind the erstwhile smiles of these women that lead them to believe that death is the only option.

Women have suffered hardships for years. Slavery, the Great Depression, living during the Civil Rights Era, all of these times were hard, but you never heard of mothers killing their children. Instead that reached deep down inside themselves and mustered whatever strength they could to make sure that their children had better lives than they did.

What has changed? Nothing could be more devastating that being raped by a slave master, forced to have his illegitimate child, and then being forced to raise that child. Yet, these things happened and many of these children and/or their grandchildren grew up to be productive, effective citizens in our society.

During the Great Depression and the Civil Rights movements, money was scarce, but somehow people managed to take the little they had and turn it into something great. Material things were not the norm. What was more important was love of the family, togetherness, and morality.

Could it be that as a society we have focused so much on gaining material wealth that we have forgotten about people? There was a time when neighbors knew neighbors, intimately; when everyone in the neighborhood had a stake in raising good, well rounded children. If, a mother was suffering and needed support, she could go to the neighbors house and be assured that whatever they had would be shared with her and her family.

Motherhood is a gift from God and it should be cherished. However, in our day it has been massacred. It is mocked. Unfortunately, too many mothers exercise selfishness with small regard for their children whom they largely ignore.

Then their are those mothers who really try to do better, but because of bureaucratic red tape, and long waiting lines, they are left to their own devices to try to make it. Where is the love and support? Where is "Big Mama", "Mamaw", and Grandmother, who can help teach and nurture these young mothers? Or have they become a sign of the past as well.

Mothers are supposed to be the teachers of compassion, love, forgiveness, honesty, and integrity. Yet, because society has all but given up on these qualities, they are forced to spend their time looking for their next paycheck. Many of them can't even be with their children when they are ill because their jobs won't allow them to be off. Instead, the children drag off to school feeling bad and lacking the security and comfort of a mother's love. What have we done?

If, we don't cure the disease that is eating away at motherhood and do it soon, our nation is headed for destruction.

Breast Implants - The Truth About Saline And Silicone Breast Implants And The Possible Dangers

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Karin_I_Manning]Karin I Manning

Saline and silicone breast implants are a common procedure undertaken by women unhappy with the size of their breasts. However, there are some real drawbacks and even dangers with this cosmetic procedure. This article will discuss the truth about saline and silicone implants.

Generally speaking, women are very satisfied with the size of their breasts after cosmetic surgery. An increase in cleavage allows them to feel more self-confident and to also wear more revealing, sexy clothes than they were previously able to.

Nowhere in the world is this surgery more popular than in LA and, particularly Beverly Hills. (Even the hit show NipTuck has moved to Hollywood to take advantage of this market!).

However, women looking into this procedure have a number of unanswered questions relating to this topic.

Many women don't understand the difference between silicone and saline implants. Silicone implants appear softer to touch and look more natural. However, these implants have also received a lot of bad publicity as a result of implants leaking and the dangers associated with it. Additionally, it is believed that a leaking silicone implant is difficult to pick up. This can also affect the ease of replacement. As a result of the persistent rumours about these implants saline implants have started to become popular.

There is a good reason why. They are filled with salt water (saline) and do not have any dangers in the case of a leak.

The cost of breast augmentation is very expensive and is not something that you should short-change yourself on. You may find a cheaper plastic surgeon who gives terrible cleavage results. I would highly recommend that you find the best plastic surgeon you can and get some credible references from satisfied customers.

It's Not the Age - It's the Attitude

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Kathy_Holmes]Kathy Holmes

Some people think there's a negative connotation to the word "attitude." You hear it when they say,"My she has an attitude" or "You need an attitude adjustment," for example. With the new contemporary women's fiction being dubbed "fiction with attitude," some authors want to point out that "it's the fiction with the attitude-not the author."

Attitude is Just How You See Things

My dear sweet grandmother, who married at 15 and raised 6 sons alongside my grandfather, was quoted as saying, "Attitude is just how you see things." She was much-loved and had an opinion on everything. After my grandfather passed away, ever the possibility-thinker, she put herself through college and then seminary and became a female pastor in a male-denominated denomination. Another quote she was famous for, "Don't give up because of age or the naysayers."

Another important ingredient is to remain young at heart. I really can't believe some of the things I hear people say. A 35-year-old professional sports player feels like the oldest member of the team-maybe because he is the oldest member of the team. But when the young guys in the locker room are listening to their I-Pods, he hasn't a clue how to join them. It takes his daughter getting him in touch with the latest technology to help him feel like one of the guys but he gets razzed in the locker room. Why should the latest technology be only for the youngest of the young? Why do some 50-year-olds cop out with the "I'm too old for this stuff" when 70- and 80-year-olds have tapped into the latest resources? If it's just not your thing, say that not "I'm too old."

Nothing warms my heart more than a 20-something listening to Tony Bennett, the 6-year-old noted for having the largest collection of Elvis memorabilia, or seeing an 80-year-old man wearing a ponytail, out jogging listening to his I-Pod. Because it's not about the ageit's the attitudeof being an individual while remaining young at heart.

Say No to Boxes

Whether you embrace technology or not isn't really the point, although embracing the world as your own is. It's about not letting society put you in a box. Don't give it away, buying into the idea that everything's for the young and your time has past because too often we accept these aging generalities as our own because it's easier. "People my age don't do that" is a great escapeso people think.

A wise person once said, "People put you in boxes so they can dismiss you." Or in the case of our modern age, so that Madison Avenue can market to you. While I am a boomer, I've rather disliked being put in that box my entire life. But it's only so people can sell us something and while that can be a good thing, it can also be detrimental. While it can be cool to join together and share our history, when we categorize ourselves in a certain age group totally, we stop thinking for ourselves and we stop being ourselves. And while I have a lot of boomer sisters online doing great things for this age groupI applaud thempeople often lump me in with that group but my message has never really been about an age.

For example, on a recent cruise I noticed the cruise line, instead of playing a set of soothing jazz music in a martini lounge, was playing a song from my childhood. It seemed highly-inappropriate for the venue. Their marketing department must have concluded that the majority of their passengers were now boomers and this meant they wanted to hear songs from their youth. Must we only embrace the music we heard when we were kids? Don't people have more diverseinterestingtastes than that? I'm hesitant to return to that cruise line if that's their marketing approach.

When I was a young woman, I was drawn to older women who saw me for the individual that I am. Now that I'm an "older" woman, I'm drawn to younger women. Maybe because I don't have children, I see them as women and not as daughtersI see them for the individual they are. But one of my role models was an older woman who had 2 daughters close to my age but you never would have known that. She treated me like an individual and not as somebody the age of one of her daughters. Life shouldn't be about the ageit's about the attitudeno matter our age.

Kathy Holmes writes women's fiction with attitude, a believer in second chances and that every little girl needs to know her daddy. She has published her first novel, "Real Women Wear Red," set on a Caribbean cruise and a free companion Ebook, "Cyn's Fabulous Guide to Cruising." She has also published a nonfiction book, "Myths of the Fatherless," about her journey to find and meet her father. To find out more, see her web site and blog at http://www.kathyholmes.net

Interview With A Shaman

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Siddhartha_Malone]Siddhartha Malone

The word Shaman is derived from the Tungas language of Siberia, for healers and spiritual leaders in tribal societies. Traditional shamans induced trance states through drums, dancing, chanting mantra, meditation and virtually any means by which one might achieve an altered state of consciousness. While in such a trance, the shaman crosses over in to another world to get help for his people.

Recently I had the good fortune to meet a Shaman in person who invited me in his Studio for a chat about Shamanism. When he was young, Shaman Siddhartha Malone was always sick and at age 14 he had a massive asthma attack after finding out his mother died of an overdose. He was rushed to the emergency room and was clinically dead for 10 minutes. Siddhartha says this was the most beautiful experience, beyond description.

GN: What is a Shaman?

SM: A Shaman is someone who has passed many life & Death test. A shaman has a deep connection with the forces of nature like the Sun, ocean, mountains, wind, trees, rocks, volcanoes and the animal world. A shaman has the ability to heal, sometimes using magic powers to cure illness & protect people from negative influences. In an altered state of consciousness, a shaman acts as a medium between the natural and supernatural worlds to predict the future, cure illness and protect people from the evil forces. Essentially a shaman's goal is to restore balance for the Mind, Body and spirit and connect people to their full potentials.

GN: What is the difference between a Shaman and a Healer?

SM: There are many wonderful healing systems in this world, Reiki, Kiko, chi kung, acupuncture, hypnosis and the list is very long. These healers have a special skill in their healing system. A shaman has various skills that deals with energy, people and spirits. Healers and massage therapists have an important task of healing and helping people unfortunately many healers and massage therapist get tired, energy drainage and sick because they are picking up their clients negative energies. This is the reason 40% of my clients are healers and massage therapist. I remove the negative energies from them with shamanic cleansing techniques and this prevents negative energy build up because Negative energy buildup leads to holes in the Aura ( Energy field) and immune system weakens then health problems come next. Energy cleansing is very important for all people especially healers.

GN: Tell me more about the Shaman world.

SM: Our Mother Earth is a living entity. Everything in Nature has a spirit/life force & each spirit has a specific name, number, color, aroma, vibration, musical notes. Chants (Mantras) are used by a shaman to contact the God or Goddess (Female & Male spirits) When a shaman combines these numbers, colors etc together, its like a telephone number calling the spirit. Each spirit has a specific specialty or talent to do things. After my NDE (near death experience) I began to have many synchronicities (Coincidence experiences and meeting the right people at the right time.) One day I met my teacher at a health food store while I was looking for some herbs. Later I underwent a very difficult test from my teacher by living in a forest sitting in a hole in the ground for 7 days. No telephone, no lights, no people around, only bears, snakes, spiders, wolves, coyotes & lots of insects. I successfully passed that test. My teacher told me 50% of shaman students do not go past this 7 day test because they become crazy or get eaten by the animals. Animals are teachers and guides we call them Power animals or totem animals. Fear is a powerful teacher, the animals can smell fear and it smells like dinner to the animals. This test is to graduated from fear and open up to Love for Mother earth, animals and the universe and Love yourself also is important. A shaman is trained to deal with strong spirits.

GN: Can you describe what a shaman can do?

SM: A shaman system can vary from culture to culture. Most shamans ( Genuine Shamans) Are trained in Traveling the the various realms, spirit world and other dimensions. Another shaman specializes in Herbs for example. In my case I do spiritual cleansings / blessings for homes, offices ,people. Magic, Spiritual counseling for family disputes, couples, singles,Teach my original healing system, Remove Phobias, Inner child healing, Past life therapy, Chakra activation, herbs, Shaman readings, Introduce people to their Totems and spirit guides, Loose weight, fitness, depression therapy,Life management and other services.

GN: How did you feel as a shaman when you visited Japan?

SM: My stay in Japan was wonderful. Japanese people were very curious yet very warm to me. I did healing workshops, resolved family disputes, energy cleansings etc. One of the workshops was called An Introduction to Yourself my Japanese audience got so comfortable that they took off their society masks and opened up releasing true feelings and talking about deep secret experiences they had. It was very touching to see they cried and laughed because I did not judge them. I am simply a messenger, teacher and a lifetime student. Another workshop I did was called Love yourselves and introduction to power Japanese people loved it knowing they all have powers and I showed them how to awaken the hidden powers, same as a car with low battery, I gave them an energy boost.

GN: One last question, what does a shaman wants? In a nutshell?

SM: Siddhartha smiled briefly and whispered May all be fed. May all be sheltered & may all be loved

Stay Home Vs Working Mom - Let's End The War!

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Linda_J._Allen]Linda J. Allen

Sometimes it can seem as though stay at home moms and working moms are battling against each other. The truth is, there are lots of women who stay at home with their children, and there are some moms who work. The other truth is, one of them is not better than the other. As moms, we all love our children, and we all want them to be happy. There are many advantages and disadvantages to both staying at home, and working outside of the home.

Staying at home with your children is great because you are able to be with them all day. You are able to bond more with your children, and instill more of your values and what you feel is important into your children. It also gives you a great feeling to be able to be with your children all the time. However, staying home with your children can also make them more dependent on you than most other children are toward their moms. It can make them fear leaving you, whether you're leaving them at school, or with the babysitter for a night off. The disadvantages to you are being on call all the time. It can make you feel like you want to tear your hair out! Also, although you have one of the hardest jobs, you're not actually bringing in an income. Although, today many moms are working over the internet, or with home businesses.

Mothers who work outside the home get their chance to be someone else other than 'mom.' They can concentrate on what they are trying to do much better than a mother who works at home. The only 'kids' they have in their hair are the ones they work with! Also, being away from your children more will foster a greater sense of independence in them. Disadvantages to working outside the home are obvious. You don't get as much time to spend with your children, and this can make you feel guilty or neglectful. Also, you have to know that whoever may be your children's caretakers will have an impact on what your children grow to believe.

Whether we work outside the home, or stay at home with our kids, we are all mothers. We all want the same things for our children. Happiness, opportunities, and we want to give them all we can. Being a mother is hard enough today. We need to stick together as moms, whatever kind of mom we are. Supporting each other in motherhood and in life is what is important. Support each other's decisions and be proud of the decision that you have made. Let's end the war!

Skin Care That Mimics Cosmetic Procedures

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Janice_Wee]Janice Wee

Name some of the most common beauty procedures in the surgeon's office these days. Aside from breast implants and liposuction that is. I can think of a few. Eye lifts Chemical peels Collagen injections into the lips Face lifts Yes, I know there are many more to target different beauty problems, but let's focus on just these few situations.

Too thin lips
If you want fuller lips, you can buy them. Collagen injected into your lips would plump them up. That would fix the vertical lines on your lips too. You would have to go to a plastic surgeon for this procedure. The collagen that is injected into the lips is bovine collagen, so if a patient is allergic to beef, she could be allergic to the collagen injections. These injections last 4 to 6 months and you'd need touch ups 2 to 3 times a year to maintain the results. These injections can reduce the wrinkles on the lips as well as to make the lips fuller.

These procedures aren't cheap. Hence the beauty industry has developed lip applications that give you fuller lips when you put that on. These are great alternatives to collagen injections.

One such alternative to these collagen injections is [http://www.everythingbeauty.info/lipfusion-plumping-therapy.htm]lipfusion. It contains dehydrated microspheres of collagen that get into your lips when you apply the lipstick. Once in your lips, the dehydrated collagen seeks out your body's natural moisture and absorbs it. The hydrated collagen plumps up your lips giving you that pouty look without the needle.

There are other lip plumpers in the market. Instead of collagen, these contain cinnamon, ginger, clove or even pepper. You get that bee-stung look by the cosmetic equivalent of getting stung by a bee on your lips. Basically this class of lip plumpers make your lips plump up by inducing an allergy, causing lips to swell up and turn red. Looks good but not something I'd want to try.

Lines on the skin
To deal with wrinkles, depending on the severity and where the lines are located, you might want to go for chemical peels, eye lifts or face lifts.

Anti-aging skincare is a big thing with cosmetic companies. Many creams, lotions and DIY kits have been produced by leading brands to erase lines and wrinkles. Some, leading brands even tout their products as substitutes for some of these cosmetic procedures.

Nowadays, some of these skin care products produce visible results that make that visit to the doctor's office unncecessarily. No doubt no at-home treatment can give you the same results as a face lift, but the results are not bad. Instead of a chemical peel to unclog pores and reduce the look of fine lines, maybe an at home treatment might do the job.

The Olay Regenerist ads make the bold claim that if you don't want a chemical peel, you could try regenerist smoothing facial serum instead. They do have the disclaimer that says "Results not equal to medical procedures". Still, it is worth a shot. You can hold of the medical procedures a little longer by using what skin care companies have to offer, and save a bundle.

Lessons In Empowerment - Ancient Women Of Courage And Wisdom Agnodice's Story

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Gayle_Goldwin]Gayle Goldwin

AGNODICE: One Woman CAN Make a Difference

From the dawn of prehistory into Egyptian times, women, not men, were the world's midwives and healers. But as patriarchal regimes spread war, suffering and tyranny across the planet in their drive for conquest, women were more and more limited to the relative safety of their homes.

By the 4th century B.C., Greek men, seeking to limit their competition, had enacted laws barring women from even studying medicine, much less practicing it. The penalty was nothing less than death.

Male disrespect for all things female, and for Woman's body in particular, led to feelings of shame and humiliation. Unnecessary modesty and embarrassment prevented the women of Athens from discussing "intimate" ailments with their doctors, all of whom who were, by law, men. As a result, many women suffered and died needlessly for want of basic medical care.

Outraged and saddened by the suffering she saw, Agnodice decided to do something about it. She donned men's clothes, cut her hair to look like a man and set off to Alexandria to study medicine. When she returned, credentials in hand, she set up a practice specializing in gynecology.

Her female patients assumed that she was, of course, a man, and were at first reluctant to discuss their problems. But when Agnodice pulled up her tunic to prove she was a woman, her practice was soon flooded with new patients as the whispered news spread from friend to friend.

Jealous and angry over the sudden exodus of their patients (not to mention the reduction in their income), Agnodice's male colleagues decided to put an end to their new competitor. Believing her to be a man, of course, they hauled her into court on charges of lasciviously seducing her patients. In her defense, Agnodice proclaimed to the packed courtroom that she was neither a man, nor lascivious, but was simply a woman physician serving women.

The seduction charges were dismissed, but the court immediately condemned Agnodice to death for practicing a profession forbidden to females. At this, the women of Athens, including the wives of several court officials, rose up in protest. Agnodice was ultimately freed, and the law was changed to allow women to practice medicine (though they were strictly limited to treating other women).
