Breastfeeding Support For The New Mother

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Mike_Selvon]Mike Selvon

Many first time mothers find themselves bewildered and frustrated during the first few weeks of breastfeeding. Finding breastfeeding support can help to decrease the anxiety and stress that new mothers experience. Breastfeeding support is available from many different sources.

Often times, other breast feeding women band together and can be a great source of comfort, support and information for each other. Seeking out a local La Leche group or a local lactation consultant can also be a very effective way of obtaining support.

Many first time mothers develop sore nipples. This can be an especially difficult time for both baby and mother. Sore nipples can make every breast feeding session excruciatingly painful for the mother. The resulting stress and anxiety can be sensed by the infant and can cause an infant to be fussy during feedings.

Sore nipples can also be a health concern for the mother if the skin is not treated appropriately. Women who experience sore nipples should consult a lactation specialist or experienced breast feeding mother for suggestions on topical lotions and home remedies to treat sore nipples before the skin becomes cracked and opens the mother up to infection.

An inadequate milk supply can be a great source of stress for a breast feeding mom. Women may turn to a breastfeeding support group to help them get through this difficult time. A temporary reduction in a woman's milk supply does not have to mean an end to the breast feeding experience.

A breastfeeding specialist can help a woman determine and correct the cause of the weakened milk supply. Until a woman's milk supply is replenished, she can choose to supplement her breastfeeding sessions with formula mixed with breast milk.

Lactation consultants are available through local La Leche Leagues as well as most hospitals. Many obstetricians will employ or recommend a few local lactation consultants for mothers who are new to breast feeding or those who are experiencing problems during feedings.

Lactation consultants are specially trained medical personnel who are passionate about breast feeding. It is important to be honest about your lactation problems and questions in order for the lactation specialist to assist you and your baby properly.

Obtaining breastfeeding support can help reduce the overwhelming feelings of helplessness and isolation that a new mother often experiences. Membership in a support group is a great first step for new mothers who are struggling with breast feeding.

Those fortunate mothers who breeze through pregnancy and breastfeeding can offer support to others who may be struggling. Choosing to help others in need provides an enriching experience that can chase away the baby blues. How Nylon Stocking And Suspender Belts Are Helpful

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Lisa_Holly] Lisa Holly

Suspenders and garters both are the same. In Britain it is known as "Suspenders" and in North America as "Garters". Stockings supported by suspenders or garters look sleek and stylish.

Garters, which hold stockings up to the legs, are usually made of leather and are few inches in width. To make it appear more appealing, the garters are embellished with bells and ribbons. During the 18th and the 20th centuries, the garters were tied below the knee so as to prevent the stockings from slipping. But with the advent of elastics in the recent years, stockings have become more demanding and comfortable to wear.

However, there is a particular way of wearing stockings. The three different ways to wear it are:

[1] You can wear a garter belt or suspender belt around the waist and loose extensions, which are known as suspenders, and sussies are clipped to the tops of the stockings. This process is considered as the easiest and hassle-free.

[2] You can also use "stay ups" to support your stockings. There is a band of elastic in the inside part of the stockings that resists the stockings from slipping down from the thigh. The firm elastics are unreliable and can make you feel uneasy.

[3] In the third process you can use elastic garters to hold the stockings by clamping it to your legs.

Of the above three ways of wearing stockings, the first one is comfortable and is very much common among women.

The nylon stockings are chic, sexy and quite in vogue today. The material, color and the appealing look actually steals the attention. You can make your pick from the array of colors like off white, beige, light brown and light beige. You can blend and match the color of the stockings with your skin color or the dress you are wearing. The shimmering and trendy designs are mostly welcomed. There are pantyhose styles, above the knee style and short knee type, which are all very beautiful and durable.

Nylon Stocking Garter Vs Traditional Knit Separate Garter

The nylon Stocking garters render various advantages, which are as follows:

- The stockings have anti cellulite effect, which enable the thighs to look firm and toned. It pampers the legs and exudes a sleeker look.
- The nylons are soft and hug your legs gently. This invigorates your blood circulation and makes you feel active throughout the day.
- The nylons encourage softening your leg and as a result rendering comfort for the whole day.

But in case of traditional knit separate garter, these suitable factors are eliminated and therefore make you feel uneasy and uncomfortable at the same time.

Garter Belts

Garter belts are inevitable as it hugs enables the stockings to hold on to your legs. The three garters are mostly preferred to the two-garter belt. This is because the three garters of the garter belt are attached to a stiff, reinforced strip of material and hold the stocking very firmly.

Garter belts are much more preferred to girdles and pantyhose. The garter belts come in different hues like red or black. The satin garter belts look more sexy and sleek.

More about nylon stocking and suspender belt

You can wear stockings with belts that can hold up the stockings firmly up to the thighs. The metal clasps grip the stocking firmly to your legs. Select the number of straps you want. Belts with six strappers are more advisable as they render staunch support. For extra support you can use girdle.

The sequins or seams of the stockings come out easily. Hence, proper care should be taken to hold them firmly against the stockings. Always prefer to wear those stockings, which have Lycra. Lycra has its own unique attribute and helps the fabric to stretch much farther than the nylons.

Hurry! Wear the sexy look and make those boys regret for ditching you.

Plus Size Bustier

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Karen_MacLean] Karen MacLean

Nothing adds to the sizzling charm of a beautifully curvaceous woman like a plus size bustier. Sheathe yourself in a beautiful satin plus size bustier to show off those curves. Or, let a dangerously seductive leather ensemble flatter your figure. Put on a daring strapless model along with your favorite pair of jeans, and go out on a hot date or a night out.

Show off Those Curves!

There is no apparel as appealing, charming or feminine as a bustier. It gives you a beautiful hourglass shape, and accentuates curves in a very flattering way. Choose the look you want. Demure and lacy will remind you of lovely Victorian women, or go for sizzling hot leather in black, guaranteed to raise the temperature several degrees!

Silky Smooth!

Feel the smooth satin caress your skin ever so gently, or opt for a playful yet seductive floral printed bustier. Team it with a matching garter belt and stockings to add to the seductive quotient. Choose bold colors like black, red and crimson and watch jaws drop!

Time to Fly!

For a more hourglass shape, wear a model with underwires or boning. A bustier shapes your waist and highlights the bust. Choosing embroidered flowers and butterflies will help create a sensual yet modest look, guaranteed to make you sizzle. Team this up with a matching babydoll dress or a sheer robe for heightened effect.

Flexible!

Combine these with anything ranging from sexy bottoms to jeans and skirts. Use it with thongs to put you, and your partner into the mood for romance. Go for a wild bustier in a bold color, and bring alive the decadence and opulence of a century gone by.

Go ahead, put on that plus size bustier and make a style statement of your very own.

Hair Care Essentials for Hair Snaps and Hair Bead Application

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Barry_Nagassar] Barry Nagassar

Did you know that hair snaps come in all shapes, styles, and colors? Hair snaps are a great way to finish off braids and twists in your child's hair. These ingenious little doodads eliminate the need to hang large barrettes or ballies on the ends of the hair braids. They are also great for holding beads on the hair. To use a hair snap simply wrap the very end of the braid or twist around the hinge of the snap once or twice, and capture what's left of the hair in the closure. Most styles of snaps are very secure and will hold many beads on the hair. Hair beads are best put in the hair with the help of a beading tool. This works like a giant needle threader. Multiple beaders can be loaded with beads (a great task for kids who are getting their hair done!) and this makes styling go faster.

Hair care essentials are important to maintain hair that is styling. Of course proper moisturizing and oiling of the hair and scalp for children with kinky, dry hair is essential. But of course, different types of hair require different hair care techniques. Some people take down hair styles and wash the hair with only moisturizer, to just get debris out and freshen it up. Always remember to moisturize and oil the scalp afterwards. Leave-in moisturizers or oil spritzes are a great way to make sure the hair stays moist and healthy on a daily basis. This can be applied to the hair every day perhaps while the child is seated at breakfast. In this manner the scalp will stay oiled and the hair will appear shiny and healthy every day.

Several products help in proper styling of kinky hair. These include seamless bone combs, the Unbraider comb for taking down braids, twists, and cornrows, the Coil Comb for creating textured styles and ringlets, and the Professional Latch Hook/Beader which is a teeny hook specially designed to tighten locs and extensions. It also works great with beads that have smaller holes than standard pony beads.

Kinky hair takes work and time, but the rewards when she looks in the mirror and sees what a fun, colorful style you have created in her hair, and the smile she'll give her reflection, is priceless! There is no better way to help your little girl feel like a princess and love her hair than to keep her hair neat and styled with lots of fun beads and hair snaps, hair clips and hair ballies.

Snapaholics provides a wide selection of [http://www.snapaholics.com/] hair snaps and [http://www.snapaholics.com/beads.html] hair beads for fun hair styling. Browse the colorful inventory of hair clips, ballies, accessories, and more for your kids today.

Good Friends + Good Times = Wonderful Memories

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Darlene_Wofford] Darlene Wofford

This afternoon I met a dear friend for lunch in Kennesaw at the place best known for Thanking God Its Friday. I will refrain from using the term dear old friend, because Im older than she is by fifteen months. Fifteen months doesnt sound like a huge age difference, and it isnt. However, when I entered Fulton High School as a freshman, she was still attending Tull Waters Elementary, so we drifted apart, and shortly afterward her family moved and we lost touch, altogether. We havent seen one another in 45 years. Forty-five years is a long time4 decades to be exactalmost half a century!

In order to look my best for the occasion I had a lot of work to do prior to our meeing. With tweezers positioned to pluck away the strays, I reluctantly flipped the ON switch of the lighted magnifying mirrormy worst enemy. My faces every flaw jumped out at me as a cruel reminder Im not the 13 year old girl Judy remembers. I wondered if my dear friend would be shocked at how much older I had become. Would she even recognize me? So with trusty concealer I strategically dotted and spackled any blemishes, particularly the dark circles beneath my eyes, and carefully used the trowel to apply my makeup. Of course, the final steps came with the blush, and then the brushes to blendand blend. Once the 5-10 minute makeover was completed, I closely examined my faces every flaw in the mirrors massive reflection, and shook my head in as a grunted. I turned away from the magnifying monster and studied myself in the dresser mirrors normal image, thinking, HmmmMuch better, as I thanked God for inventing makeup.

After a careful check-over, I decided the hair looked presentable and makeup looked fine, as I reassured myself, so far, so good. Then I made the mistake of getting dressed and standing before the full-length mirroranother one of my nemeses. I stood before that merciless monster and cursed its heartlessness. I downright begged aloud to the inanimate thing, Am I asking too much of you to make me look phenomenally fantastic just this one time? Ive pointed out the mirrors distortions many times before to my husband, but Carl claims he cant see them. The strangest thing is that the distortions are in the exact places such that my hips, thighs, legs and upper arms are all made to look hugeakin to the reflections in the carnivals funhouse mirrors. I wont even approach the subject of the rear view reflection. Similar to the cars rear view mirror, I should have the words stenciled across my little hand-held beauty stating objects appear larger than actual size. At least that would make me feel more confident before going out, especially to meet someone I havent seen in FORTY-FIVE YEARS! The thought did cross my mind that I could always just call and postponeat least, until I could drop a few and slim down a little bit.

However, a glance at my watch told me I had no time to second-guess my attire or the way I looked, and certainly not enough time to shed a quick 30 pounds or so before meeting my dearbut not oldfriend, so out the door I rushed.

When our eyes met it was as though time had virtually stood still. I would have known Judy anywhere, except that her brunette hair is now blonde. She looked great! And she kindly said the same about me. All my feelings of inadequacy just flew out the window as we settled in to a enjoy one another for who we were and have become, rather than how I looked.

As one might expect of two women with a 45 year gap in their lives, we talked and talked for more than 2 hours. Each of us had gone our separate ways in life, and yet we were still connected in so many ways.

Of course, there was never a fear that we would run out of things to talk about, and it was so great sharing wonderful memories of our youth. We remembered our parents and friends our own agesome still living, some notand the good people in our neighborhood where we grew up in Southeast Atlanta, GA. I was disappointed when she told me our church had a reunion about 15-18 years ago, of which I wasnt aware. Once the subject of Browns Mill Park Baptist Church was brought up, we were reminded of the close-knit church family there. The Bartons, the Hudsons, the Moons, Bartletts, Coopers, Moores, Chambers, Heatons, etc., the list just went on and on.

We also brought each other up to date from the last time we were in touch those 4 decades earlier. We talked about our husbands, our children, grandchildren, our careers, and of course, my novel, Edgewise: An Assignment to Remember. She pulled out a picture of her sons family with their two children. Alas, I am yet a gramma wannabe, so I happily went on over hers and reminded her how she is blessed.

We hugged outside the restaurant and promised to keep in touch--do this again soon, and include her sister, Cathy next time. Only time will tell whether we will do this again soon, but I for one hope we stick to our promises.

As I drove away in my little T-bird, I waved and blew her a kiss thinking, for a little more than two hours today time stood still for my dearbut not oldfriend, Judy and me.

In retrospect, I wouldnt have missed this afternoon for anything, as Im convinced, whether theyre new, old or not-so-old, Good Friends and Good times go Hand-in-Hand with Wonderful Memories

Why Women Make Men Lie

By Shawn Hill

As a man I know how uncomfortable the no win question can be. "Do I look fat in this?", "Do you think she is pretty?" or the all time favorite, "Do you love me?". Now there is no way to win if you do not agree with what the woman has asked you.

What if you think she does look fat, you think the other woman is pretty and you do not really love her yet? At this point most women would say that they want to know. Please. A guy knows that once he gives the wrong answer to these questions he will never hear the end of it.

Whenever he gets into an argument it will always be, "It must because you think I am fat, she is prettier than me or you really do not love me." These are no win questions because there is only one answer that a woman wants to hear. Anything else and the guy will pay dearly for it. If not then, at some point he will regret answering these questions.

So what should a woman do if she really wants to know the answers?

Give the guy some emotional air. How do you do that? By letting him know that whatever answer you give him, you will not punish him for it, he will have the courage to be more open with you. This is more than just saying that statement. It means actually living it.

This type of trust may take some time to build up. If you have a history of going off the handle when angry, then it WILL take some time. The only way to make it a reality is by handling difficult news and disappointment in a loving manner.

My mama always told me to not ask a question I did not want to know the answer to. This same can be said for a woman. If you are not willing or able to handle the truth, then do not ask the question.

Once a man feels that he can trust the woman in his life with the truth, you will see the relationship rise to a whole new level. Give your man the emotional air that he needs and you will be rewarded by a happier and more loving mate.

Running on Empty

By Ellen Besso

Women are by nature and training nurturers. But we often carry this too far. We think of everyone else's needs, but forget our own. How far can one woman stretch? Who will care for us if we don't care for ourselves? What are the underlying beliefs that drive us to give and give until there's very little left for ourselves?

I have helped many women who are professional caregivers. They spend their days giving succor to others, then go home to demanding home lives children with all kinds of needs, partners who cant or wont pick up the slack, and in many cases aging parents who require intensive support.

As women many of us just keep on going until we are running on empty. Then something starts to shatter inside us. As we try to compartmentalize the parts of our lives in order to accomplish more, we begin to fracture inside and lose touch with the essence of ourselves. Sometimes our physical health suffers; more often its our mental and emotional health. Depression, anxiety, sadness and/or anger may simmer beneath the surface, and emerge more and more as women reach their mid years.

Why wouldnt we be mad or sad or anxious. Its a normal and healthy response to pushing too hard for too long. Look at the schedules of women around you and at your own. Perhaps its time to question why we believe we have to do so much, often without adequate support. And to examine the toll it is taking on us.

If you want to take a look at your life and see where you would like to initiate change, the following questions may help you get started:

When you think about your life, how does it measure up to what youd hoped for? (If +10 is Im right there, what # are you at right now?)

Imagine you are walking into your workplace right now. How does your body feel? (Hint: check your stomach, neck, and chest areas)

If you knew you would only live for 6 more months, what would you do & who would you do it with?

Do you look forward to going home after work & spending time with your partner, your children, or close friends? If not, why not?

What are your beliefs about happiness, relationships and life work?

The answers you get to these questions are information only. You dont have to do a thing about them at this point. Just spend a little time thinking about them and visualizing your life as you dream it could be.

Mom's Summer Hours - Manage Your Home Office Through The Summer

By Rosanne Rust

School's out! As a parent, you are happy to see the kids home, relaxing and ready to enjoy summer vacation. After all, you were a kid once, and you remember how much fun summer was. But now, you have a home office, and the end of the school year can create thoughts of panic instead of relaxation. How are you going to get your work done with the kids running around all day?

Well, it can be done, but it may take some flexibility and focus. Here are some tips to help you get through your to-do list and stay productive through the summer:

- Write up a new office hour schedule. Post it on your door and let your children know what the rules are. If it is likely that some or all of your children will sleep in, then its likely that a block of morning hours will be productive for you.

- Be flexible. Think of this as your summer vacation too! If you dont have a laptop, now is the time to seriously consider purchasing one. Go for a wireless network too. This offers you so much more flexibility in your home office. Take your work to the porch, the beach, or the backyard hammock this summer!

- Hire some help. If you have young children, your best bet may be to hire a mothers helper a few days a week. This way, your children can play all day, get plenty of fresh air outside, and you wont feel guilty about ignoring them or keeping them cooped up indoors.

- Dont rule out weekends. While you do want to enjoy some weekends to yourself, you may want to consider working a few Saturdays or Sundays through the summer, and taking weekdays off instead. If you have a supportive spouse who can take the kids on a Saturday morning, this may be a great time for you to get a block of work done.

- If you can take a break from some of your responsibility during the summer, and make it up in the fall, go for it.

Working at home can be the best of both worlds, but it still has its challenges. Enjoy your children; use your office hour time to be as productive as possible, and you can have a productive yet relaxing summer!

Diet And Lifestyle Changes While Planning A Pregnancy

By Apurva Jain

Planning a pregnancy makes it imperative that you adopt certain dietary and lifestyle changes if you want a healthy pregnancy and childbirth. A body that is fit mentally and physically will find it easy to handle the strain of pregnancy and childbirth. You may benefit by planning a pregnancy as you are prepared for it, and can get your body in shape before conception.

Changes During The Pre Pregnancy Period

While planning a pregnancy, it is recommended to visit your doctor. A check up will establish if it is safe for you to have a baby, and it will shed light on issues that may need attention. Issues like male fertility problems or female infertility can be dealt with.

Lifestyle changes are extremely important as they play a major role in influencing pregnancy. An ideal body weight that is correct for a person of your height is recommended. Weight plays an important role, as underweight as well as obese women are susceptible to fertility problems. Obese women have more chances of developing complications such as hypertension and diabetes. So, if you are considering pregnancy planning, it is time you got fit. Walking, yoga, and light exercise that do not tire you too much may be taken up. Yoga and meditation are good as they help you relax reducing stress.

You have to give up smoking, alcohol; drugs etc. as they influence fertility as well as have a harmful effect on your health as well as that of the child's. If your work exposes you to teratogens such as heavy metals, solvents, radiation, anesthesia, paint fumes, dry cleaning liquids etc., you may require to change your job, as they are harmful during pregnancy. If your work requires that you stand for long periods of time, or if you have to work in shifts, you may also consider a change of job.

Saunas and hot tubs are better avoided as these have been said to increase the chances of neural tube defect in babies.

Diet also plays a very important role. You may start to eat healthy during the pre conception phase itself. Eating regular meals that are balanced and nutritious is important. Green leafy vegetables, orange juice, fortified cereals, bread, cereals, noodles, potatoes, rice are good. Multi-vitamin and folic acid supplements are also encouraged to be consumed as they greatly reduce the chances of babies with birth defects and neural tube defects etc. Dry fruits, greens, nuts, green leafy vegetables etc. are also good sources of iron, which is important too. Milk and milk products such as yoghurt are good.

Certain foods are best avoided during pre pregnancy such as raw or undercooked meat, soft cheese, raw fish etc., as they may cause severe pregnancy complications. Mercury rich fish such as shark, marlin, and sword fish are a no no while planning a pregnancy. Coffee is best taken in moderation, if possible better avoided completely. Foods that are rich in vitamin A may be taken in moderation as vitamin A in excess is not good, either.

Do not take medication. without consulting your physician and finding out if it is safe. If you have a disease condition, do find out if it is safe to take the necessary medication. Do ask your doctor before trying a new product such as a hair fall prevention formula. This applies for the fathers too. Generally, have fun planning a pregnancy.

Breast Enhancement - For Cosmetic Or Surgical Purposes!

By Joey River

Women require to look good completely, that includes not just the face but also the body. No woman will be satisfied with her appearance until she thinks she is totally attractive, therefore, there have been invented several techniques which have tried to correct or enhance with the help of surgery. Breast enhancement is one such technique.

Traditionally, breast enhancement was made to correct natural flaws that any woman might have. This included different size of each breast. Breast enhancement tried to operate on one breast to bring it to the same size as the larger one. The reason for this type of breast enhancement is logical.

However, some women want to be well endowed so in a quest towards shapelier and highly attractive breasts, women go in for breast enhancement. Breast enhancement or breast enlargement can be done is several different ways. Apart from surgery, you can go in for medical pills, which claim to enhance breasts, exercises designed for breast enhancement, etc.

Apart from using surgery as a means to breast enhancement, women have been trying other methods to increase the size of their breasts. Usage of padded bras, especially by those who had an unequal bust, etc. is quite common and a normal phenomenon. Therefore, different methods of breast enhancement have been tried around to world.

Surgical breast enhancements were being tried for a long time. It started in France, however, after using several things as filling for breasts, it was found out that none really were effective until silicone came along. Before, people were tried with benign cancer growth, glass balls, paraffin, ivory balls, etc. None of the implants were successful. However, it was not until 1964, that the first saline implant was introduced for the purpose of breast enhancement. The implant required a smaller cut. These implants are well known in United States of America than in other countries.

Another type of implants found for breast enhancement are the silicone gel implants, there are considered superior by surgeons over saline implants. Breast enhancement, surgically is costlier than any other type of method used for breast enhancement. The cost of implants is much higher and the process requires more time and money.

Breast enhancement is similar to breast augmentation, but they differ completely in purpose. Breast enhancement is done to enhance or increase the size of the bust, thus creating a very impressive neck - line. On the other hand, breast augmentation is done to gain symmetry, i.e. in order to correct rather than enhance the breast.

Breast enhancement is the most common type of common surgery all over Europe and the Americas. There are millions of women each year, who get the cosmetic breast enhancement surgery done in America alone. This surgery can be done using two methods, both the methods use cuts and stitches, this also requires you to take rest till the stitches are opened. So it would mean rest for a complete week before you can start up on your routine.

Nightwear - Treat Yourself and Express Your Style

By Amanda Cotterill

Sheer nightwear is for more than just sleeping. Dont let the word nightwear fool you. Chemises and nighties can be just as sexy as any other piece of lingerie. Cuddling up in a pair of plaid flannel pajamas is fine on a cold winters night. But special occasions call for special nightwear.

Sheer nightwear can also serve a more functional purpose. Its very breathable, and it will keep you cool on hot, humid nights. The sheer fabric is even more breathable than cotton.

Silk lingerie is another staple in any nightwear collection. Silk slips and slides along with your body when you roll over in bed. You wont wake up in the morning to find your nightgown twisted up around your armpits.

We all love the look and feel of silk lingerie. Its hard to believe that a fabric so lovely and luxurious comes from worms! We have Chinese princess Xi Liu Shi to thank for silk lingerie. Legend says that way back in 2600 BC she was enjoying a cup of tea under a mulberry tree when out of nowhere a silk cocoon fell into her cup. Her tea was ruined, but it was worth it when she made a discovery that would one day sweep the world of intimate apparel. Xiu Liu Shi saw that the cocoon was actually made of a single strand of delicate thread.

Maybe a fly in your soup isnt so bad after all. You might just discover the next fabulous fabric for ladies nightwear!

Beautiful ladies nightwear isnt just for impressing your husband or boyfriend. Its something you should do for yourself. Next time you want to treat yourself, do your thighs a favor and opt for a luxurious nightie instead of triple chocolate fudge ice cream.

Sleeping in a pair of boxers and an over-sized t-shirt has the affordable factor going for it. It costs nothing to steal a shirt from your hubbys closet. You might think that luxurious ladies nightwear is an indulgence you cant afford. Perhaps that was once the case, but not anymore. With advent of the Internet came the advent of online discount retailers. With a quick search of the web, youll find discount lingerie in every shape, size, style, and color.

Discount lingerie doesnt necessarily mean sacrificing quality for price. Nightwear from some of your favorite designers is available in outlet stores both on the web and in shopping centers. In fact, even high-end department stores regularly have lingerie sales. Keep an eye out for bargains. Then you can treat yourself to some fancy ladies nightwear guilt-free!

For all the style mavens out there, your nightwear has the potential to make quite a fashion statement. Consumer studies have shown that comfort and price are becomingly increasingly less important to those purchasing lingerie. Fashion and style are becoming top priorities, and designers are responding to this trend. Theyre looking to clothing trends to inspire their nightwear collections.

So retire that pilled terry cloth robe and cast aside the stained, size XXL t-shirt. Its time to make room for some fabulous nightwear!

Is Inflation Sexist?

By Dan Pritch

Apparently, it is. In a recent BusinessWeek article, David Rosenberg, chief economist for Merill Lynch, revealed the results of his efforts to discern any disparity between the sexes for consumer goods and services they each tend to spend more money on. For instance, for men, he looked at sporting goods, TVs and auto parts; for women, cosmetics, jewelry and housekeeping. Of course, in the real world, there is plenty of overlap in purchasing patterns for the genders, but on an aggregate basis, this is the best data set that's out there for this analysis.

What he found is that the rate of inflation for females is currently 18 times that of men, at 3.6% vs. 0.2%. This is an incredible statistic, but in context, it's conceivable. He goes on to cite the increase in employment growth for women compared to men, increasing age of marriage and generally accepted spending patterns (If my wife's spending is any indication, I think he's on to something).

His conclusion on the inflationary differences is evidenced by accelerating price increases for jewelry and women's clothing vs. steady performance or declining pricing for TVs and auto parts.

Why is this important? Well, if you're a woman and your boss tells you to be happy with your 2.5% raise because you're keeping up with inflation, this article would be a great one to hit them with. Additionally, for any investor interested in long term investments based on demographic growth, any female-centric high quality stock would be worth considering. For instance, going back a year, Coach (COH) has doubled the rate of return of the S&P500.

Top 10 Reasons To Be A Working Mum From Home

By Julie Hanson

1. You have no worries about going back to work after maternity leave. There is a large pressure on women these days to have it all! Have a successful career and be a wonderful Mum. You sometimes need to be a Super Woman! If you work from home you can do both without putting too much pressure on yourself.

2. These days there is flexibility to work at the times that suit you. The internet age makes it easy to work 24x7. You can contact people online anytime that you want. So if you have an internet business you can work when the children have gone to bed. The flexibility takes an enormous pressure off you. You can have both - be a mother and go to work without sacrificing anything.

3. You can choose to put your child into nursery care or take them to a child minder if you wish, but you don't have to. Therefore you don't have to pay child care fees. You may of course choose to take them to give you more time, or for them to have social interaction, but you have a choice.

4. You can be around for activities that you'd like to take your child too. These days there are lots of things to do with your children. From day one there are groups offering swimming classes, music groups, gym babes etc. It's very enjoyable to take your children to these activities so if you're working from home, you can choose when you have time off and when you work.

5. Take advantage of the available options to be able to work from home. There are so many available choices these days, so you have lots of ways to be able to work from home. Companies are actively looking for staff that can be more flexible. They are happy if you want to work at home. It saves them money as they don't need to provide you with any office space.

6. There are also some great businesses available to start creating a residual income. This means that you can start to earn a good income that will pay you when you stop working too. It's just like an author being paid royalties for a book that they have written several years ago. This was what interested me most when I started working from home.

7. It offers the ability to be your own boss, so you don't have to ask permission to take your child to the Dentist or Doctors. You also choose the hours you want to work. You can have both - be a mother and go to work without sacrificing anything.

8. A bit of a cheeky benefit is that you can be at home to do household tasks whilst you're working - i.e. put the washing on! This may seem really trivial but believe me when that washing basket starts to pile up so does your stress! Being able to do things like this whilst you're at home is a great benefit.

9. Your office is easy to reach - no commuting. You don't have to spend an hour in the car to get to work. Again it's more time you can spend with your children whilst still having a very productive day. If running your own business is something that you're interested in, then you can build a business from home without being tied to a premises that you have to go to.

10. If your child is ill you can stay at home or if they're on school holidays, you don't have to go out to work. You can imagine the scenario - you have an important meeting to go to at work, your Boss is relying on you to attend, then you get a call from the nursery - can you come and pick her/him up straight away. More stress for you as you have no choice but to leave work.
